Who NFF Work with

Our Partners, Collaborators & Support Network

Nurture Forward Foundation values the institutions, organizations, businesses, professionals, and supporters who contribute to our mission in different ways. These relationships strengthen our programs, expand opportunities for learning and community engagement, and help build NFF’s organizational capacity.

The NFF Global Learning & Cultural Exchange Host Program is an international hosting initiative of Nurture Forward Foundation designed to support students, young people, educational institutions and recognized sending organizations seeking structured learning and cultural experiences in Tanzania.

NFF serves as the local host and coordinating partner in Tanzania, supporting participants and partner organizations from pre-arrival preparation through the participant’s stay and departure.

The program combines local hosting, participant welfare, orientation, community engagement, cultural learning and coordination with relevant Tanzanian institutions where specialist field experience is required.

NFF Hosting Models:

The program is bult around a clear partnership model––International sending organizations––NFF local hosting and coordination—Tanzania learning, discovery, and community engagement.

The international university, school, placement organization or other sending institution retains responsibility for its academic or educational program, participant selection, learning requirements, assessment and academic supervision.

NFF’s role is local hosting.

NFF provides the local framework that enables participants to live, learn, engage and navigate their experience in Tanzania safely and meaningfully.

Where a participant’s program requires specialist field exposure—for example within healthcare, education, social work or another professional environment—such experience takes place through appropriately qualified Tanzanian institutions and professionals.

Programme Philosophy

Learn With Communities

Global learning is most meaningful when it is based on respect, reciprocity and shared experience. International participants should not enter communities merely as observers or outsiders bringing knowledge to others. They should also arrive as learners—recognizing the knowledge, experiences, traditions and perspectives already present within the communities they encounter. The program therefore promotes: Learning with communities, not simply observing communities. Participants are encouraged to understand Tanzania within its own social, historical and cultural context while also contributing their perspectives and experiences to a genuine two-way exchange. The program further recognizes that learning does not take place only in classrooms or formal institutions. Families, communities, workplaces, cultural environments and everyday interactions can all become important spaces for learning.
